Palo Alto Pen Pals - Malia, Grace, and Isabel

Blog #1 - November 1, 2014

About the project -

Welcome to the first blog of PAPP! (Palo Alto Pen Pals) We, the creators, Malia, Grace, and Isabel, have aimed to create a network to connect kids across countries to further our knowledge on different places and new people.  We plan on creating a google doc, sharing it with the first school we are connecting with.  The school is
called The Seven Summits Centre for Learning in Rossland, British Columbia.  We will email the principle asking permission to connect one of their classes with our leadership class.  Once that task is completed we will also try to set up a website.  We're not a 100% sure on what it will be used for, but most likely to spread our idea and hopefully attract the attention of other schools.

About the school -

We have chosen the Seven Summits Center for Learning for a couple of reasons, one: because we have a relationship with the principle making it easy to contact her. Two: the schools location is in a spot much different from ours in Palo Alto.  Third: the schools way of teaching is more loose and provides more freedom for the kids. The school also has almost half the amount of kids JLS has. It is a different way of teaching and learning that will be interesting for us to learn more about.

Where do we go from here?

We have already stated, our goals, the background, and about the school, now all we have to do is find a starting point. We plan by the end of this week, to have emailed the principle and have a confirmed answer to wether their school will take part in our project, to finish the google doc and get stated on the website.
